Vice Chair
What does your role in the PSSA
involve?
I have just been elected to be vice-
chair specifically to look at
marketing the PSSA more widely
throughout the Security Industry.
What’s your vision for PSSA over the
next year/ 3 years/ 5 years?
I believe the PSSA has a unique
‘product’ within the perimeter
security industry and so I would
like to see in the immediate future
some quite significant growth in
the number of products/
companies going though the
various Verification Schemes and
much more awareness of the
‘Verified’ status within the
industry. Also; I would like to see
clients and consultants starting to
specify much more that a project
should use verified products and
companies. Finally; from the
interest we have had I can see us
taking the model for the PSSA
abroad.
Where have you previously
worked?
I have undertaken quite a few roles
with Tata Steel Projects having
started as a Senior Design
Engineer and then latterly as a
Project Engineer mainly working
on Rail projects. Before that I was a
Design Programme Manager with
GallifordTry and before that a Site
Engineer/ Section Engineer for
Balfour Beatty which
included 2-years ripping out and
replacing the tracks through the
Tube. So the next rough train you
get on the Central or Victoria lines;
it might be my fault!
What’s the first thing you would do
if you were prime minister?
Reverse the Tuition Fees scandal!
Who would you most like to meet
and why?
Tricky one! They say never meet
your idols but I’m not sure I idolise.
I considered one of the Tech giants
as I think they are the ones
changing the world at the moment
but I’d probably go for a pint with
Barack and see if he’ll tell me the
world’s secrets!
What 3 things would you take to a
desert island?
A generator, fridge full of beer and
my iPhone (inc charger) as that can
be my Music, Books and Games.
