Highway Care hopes to improve the simplicity and effectiveness of this protection with its latest offering to the UK market. The Claw mobile barrier has been tested to IWA-14, with three different vehicles, meaning it offers versatile performance, resisting a varied range of attacks. It has also been tested independently against nudging and pushing using a variety of cars. These tests were conducted using both front and rear wheel drive cars, adding to its attack resistance. Despite its high-performance credentials, Claw, is a genuine ‘Drop and Go’ surface mounted product, requiring no fixings, no pinning, and no anchors. It can be simply and easily be placed in the location required and is ready to protect! Once a unit is dropped in place, you have the confidence in its full performance. By design there can be no deviation from the ‘as tested’ installation, which, according to Highway Care, many alternative products can suffer. In addition, this product is tamperproof, it cannot be moved by a member of the public, therefore does not need guarding like many alternatives. However, if authorised movement or repositioning is required, for emergency access for instance, this can be achieved with a single trained operator (with supplementary equipment). Other than being a high performance tested HVM product, Claw also offers the possibility of additional advertising space, using either banners or cutting-edge electronic boards, allowing to offset some of the costs of security deployment. It also offers the possibility of storing recycling containers for people leaving and entering the area, and cycle racks for visitors to secure their bicycles.
