– 20 – Newsletter sponsor: www.highwaycare.com NEWS  |  ISSUE 31 Cova Security Gates ‘open’ to a wealth of new employees It has been an unprecedented 18 months for Cova Security Gates, where continued business growth has resulted in the creation of new job roles. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has not dampened the demand for Cova Security Gates products, and like most companies, they have had to adapt and make significant changes in the way they operate to ensure their clients receive the continued quality of products, design and installation expertise they have come to expect of this global perimeter security manufacturer. A surge in demand for perimeter security has in turn led to significant ‘new business’ increases, and as a result, Cova Security Gates have made key appointments across the business to best meet both current demand and planned growth. The most significant impact has been on their Commercial/Sales force where the team has more than doubled in size, demonstrating the uptake of business opportunities, new sales orders and supporting maintenance contracts. Positions have also been fulfilled within Cova Security Gates’ Design, Finance, Field Service, and Factory Operations Teams. Operations Director (and PSSA Council Member) Jon Trott comments “To have the opportunity to welcome so many new faces to the team, to mainly newly created roles across commercial, operations and support services, this at a time when the local employment world is in shock due to the impacts of Covid-19 (being near London Gatwick Airport), has been a one of the warming moments of what has been a challenging but enjoyable 18 months. We recognise we are very fortunate and as a result are more focused than ever on building on this success”. Internal promotions have also not gone amiss, with Philip Clifford-Jones who joined Cova Security Gates in 2016 being promoted to Installations Manager supporting Neil Charles (Field Operations Manager). Phil brings a wealth of practical experience to the role having works as a Field Service Engineer both with Cova and before. “After 10 years of installing, maintaining, and repairing a multitude of automatic gate, blockers, and barrier systems, I’m delighted to now be at the forefront of installation management.
