This positive interest in becoming involved in the workings of the association has led to the first change to the Council member Bye Laws since the formation of the PSSA. At an Extraordinary General Meeting it was voted to increase the Management Council to accommodate up to 16 members as well as see the formation of an Executive Board to carry out the day to day work on the instruction of the Council. The new structure will be formally implemented at the next AGM. In addition to Management Council changes, the member definition was changed. This amendment was to provide a consistent wording to define the scope of the PSSA as products that have specifically passed relevant tests. The membership criteria Bye Laws now state independently tested and rated high security perimeter protection products. PSSA AGM and Dinner report The PSSA’s December Annual General Meeting was well attended with representatives present from nearly every member company. It was great to see so many members with Paul Jeffrey updating everyone on the progress of the Association since he stepped into the Chairman’s role and the plans for the future. New members were also welcomed as well as thanks passed on to previous Chairman, Simon Towers. On the conclusion of the formal events, the members’ dinner gave a chance for everyone to socialise together with a magician providing entertainment. An enjoyable evening was had by everyone with many people asking for a dinner to follow the AGM every year. The PSSA at Intersec Dubai 2020 Following the first visit to Intersec Dubai by the Association, the planning for a PSSA pavilion in 2020 is in progress. With keen interest from a number of member companies, the PSSA pavilion should attract a number of visitors. We hope that having our own PSSA area with an exclusive meeting area will give members the opportunity to build relationships with buyers and trade contacts from the 30,000+ visitors. If you have not already expressed an interest in joining the PSSA pavilion for Intersec Dubai 2020 please contact us now to confirm you stand space requirements It is likely that the PSSA pavilion will be located in the Physical and Perimeter Security Hall on a dedicated island site. The Physical and Perimeter Security Hall is a great location with high footfall from those looking for perimeter solutions at one of the biggest security shows in the world.
