Heald Ltd shortlisted for Security
Innovation Awards 2015
Heald Ltd are pleased to announce that our
Hydra remote control and monitoring system
was shortlisted for the prestigious Security
Innovation Awards 2015
We are proud to be recognised as leading
innovators in the field of security with what is a
revolutionary new system.
The Hydra offers simple, streamlined
interaction with automated Heald products
through a range of modern technologies
including desktop, laptop and tablet PCs, an
Android phone app and even SMS. It can also
be configured with a more traditional push
button console with built-in LCD screen to
provide detailed monitoring information.
Using the SMS functionality enables security
operatives to access data from virtually
anywhere in the world. The Hydra can be
configured to automatically contact users when
a service is due for example, or if a roadblocker
or bollard is damaged. Tablet and PC apps
provide visual feedback on unit operation and
web access allows remote monitoring.
The Hydra is a modular system, which
means that it can be configured precisely to
the specific needs of each client. It also means
that modules can be added on as required. As
well as additional control modules such as SMS
capability this includes a range of modules to
add functionality including a radar speed gun.
Heald’s Hydra is available with any of our
automated security products and can be
retrofitted to many existing installations.

Townscape Products launches CT Collections at CTX2015
PERIMETER security specialist, Townscape
Products Limited, has launched a new prestige
collection for its PAS 68 hostile vehicle mitigation
(HVM) CT Blocks at the Counter Terror Expo 2015.
The CT Collections range is a new cladding
selection of superior quality natural materials
designed to give Townscape’s traditional CT
Block a finish of the highest standard.
Jonathan Goss, managing director ofTownscape
Products, said:“We know the last thing a property
owner wants is to turn their property into a fortress.
Our CT Blocks have always been designed to
enable facilitiesmanagers to protect their people
and property discreetly and sympathetically to the
local environment.
“We’ve listened to the needs of our customers
and created the CT Collections range to give a
superior finish to our security systemwhich will
complement the design of a building, provide a
high degree of functionality, whilst still being a
strong deterrent to vehicle-borne attacks.”
The CT Collections range is available as full
‘on block’cladding, planter‘surround’cladding
or bespoke CT Block seating. Elements can also
be added to distinguish each block, such as LED
lighting and signage.
The range of natural materials includes;
Granite, Quartz and Dekton® for the highest
quality finish. Jonathan added:
“As the hardest structural stone, natural granite
makes an ideal material for integration into
the city scape. Its stylish patterns, finishes and
colours which we offer in over 50 variants, make
it a highly versatile and popular external building
material. Dekton® is a blend of the rawmaterials
used to produce the very latest innovation
in glass and porcelain, as well as the highest
quality quartz surfaces, giving durability and
scratch resistance. Its robustness and strength,
combined with a tolerance of both low and
high external temperatures, make it the perfect
accompaniment to our external spaces.”
CT Blocks are manufactured at Townscape’s
Sutton-in-Ashfield factory, each weigh in at
2.2 tonnes and are made using a special mix of
aggregates designed for ultimate strength. The
CT Blocks only require minimal groundwork due
to their low profile foundation, making them
cost effective to install without compromising
security. The blocks are positioned where a
building is vulnerable to vehicular incursion
and meet the PAS 68 standard for vehicle
immobilisation.
Townscape’s integrated HVM range, which
included blocks, bollards, barriers and planters
